Description

Authentic antique folio photogravure print dating to 1888 as published by the Salon de Paris.  Printing process is photogravure.  Condition is very good and clean for a print of this age.  Print is from an incomplete art book. There is a ” ghost impression ” on back of print, which adds to the provenance of age of prints, as the inks and paper are high quality from this time period ( a small portion of the “ghost impression ” on back of print is from the print that laid against this print for over 130 years, which does NOT show through to front ) .   A nice plate impression is seen around the image.  Overall size is approximately 8.5 by 12.5 inches with image size being approximately 4 7/8 by 7 1/8 inches.
Title is “La Plaine de Cayeux ( Somme ).”   Artist is A. Guillemet.
